Genital esthetic surgery, also known as vaginal rejuvenation, genital beautification or designer vagina is a combination of procedures performed for improving the outlook and function of external genital organs.

Since there are experienced surgeons specialized in genital esthetics and the cost of surgery is affordable in Turkey, more and more patients from overseas are being operated for vaginal rejuvenation.

Mons pubis is the fatty tissue covering the pubic bone. Its main function is to prevent pain during sexual intercourse, by forming a cushion over the pubic bone.

This area also contains glands which secrete pheromones for sexual attraction. It may be enlarged and fatty due to excessive weight gain. It may be decreased in size by a monsplasty surgical procedure.

Named after Dr. Grafenberg, G spot has been used to decribe a sensitive area in the anterior vaginal wall and it has been claimed that it plays an important role in female vaginal orgasm.

Rather than being a seperate anatomical landmark, G spot is a part of the clitoral network. When the G spot is stimulated, the clitoral network is actually stimulated. This starts a cascade of events from sexual arousal to female orgasm.

Vaginal agenesis or Müllerian agenesis is the congenital absence of the vagina, the uterus or both due to Mayer-Rokitansky-Kuster-Hauser Syndrome. Agenesis or atresia means that an organ has not developed in the embryo and it is absent.

Vaginal agenesis is caused by embryologic underdevelopment of the Müllerian duct, causing agenesis of the vagina, uterus or both.

The clitoris is located at the junction of the two labia minora (inner lips) above the urethral orifice. It is the embryological equivalent of the male penis. It is composed of the glans, body and two crura.

The body is composed of two erectile structures known as the corpora cavernosa. It embryologically develops from the genital tubercle, if it is not exposed to androgens (male hormon) however if it is exposed to androgens in utero, it becomes the penis in male infants.

Hymenoplasty is the reconstruction of hymen, which is a mucosal ring-like structure circumferentially surrounding the enterance to the vagina.

The so called purpose of hymenoplasty is to restore virginity. In my opinion, the surgery is performed to relieve anxiety in women and to boost self-confidence before marriage.
