Vaginal Atresia
When I had no menstruation until the age of 17, wmy mother took me to a doctor and they told me I was born with MRKH Syndrome. I was shocked to learn that I was born without a vagina and a uterus. This meant I could not have a child by natural ways. It also meant I could not have sex without treatment. After a lot of search, I found Dr Burcu Saygan Karamürsel who explained to me in detail about my condition. My parents were worried that I would feel very bad so they tried to hide the situation from me at the beginning.
But Dr Karamürsel told me that after surgery to make a new vagina, I would have totally normal life. She explained that there was a closed surgery to treat this condition. I was very relaxed after I talked to her, because she has a very positive personality. I am very lucky to have met her, because she and her team did not only make my surgery very succesfully but also gave me all the psychological support I desperately needed at that time. Thank you very much Dr Karamürsel for all your professional effort and your support throughout my treatment.
